10-12:30pm: Participate in this free Reminiscence Skills workshop with Sophie Hatch in The Kingsley Room at the Burton. Throughout the morning you will learn how to use photographs with an older relative or friend, including those with mild to moderate memory loss, to reminisce together in conversation. Sophie will help you apply the skills and techniques used in her memory café sessions for this project. These have used the Beaford Archive as their starting point for talking about memories, events, communities and traditions across North Devon. You can bring your own family photographs if you would like, although this is not essential. A range of photographs will be used as a starting point to help you plan, develop and explore your reminiscence ideas giving you the confidence, skills and strategies that you can use with your relative or friend.
