  • Curating cultural events and programming, ensuring that the interests and preferences of young audiences are adequately represented.

  • Connecting established artists and cultural practitioners with young creatives to facilitate skill transfer and create opportunities for networking and professional growth.

  • Share knowledge and insights in developing educational programs that resonate with contemporary trends, fostering cultural awareness and appreciation among all age groups.

  • Collaborate with Art’s Council National Portfolio Organisations to launch promotional campaigns that position northern Devon as an attractive creative destination, highlighting the region's unique cultural offerings and quality of life.

Youth Arts Ambassadors will recieve complimentary tickets to a variety of beaford events each season.

Current Projects:

Youth Arts Commission

Following a week’s work experience with Beaford, young artist Aaban Aslam has been commissioned by Beaford to create a short story in graphic format. An image from this project, which is inspired by North Devon folklore, has been used as part of the recruitment materials that was created for the Youth Arts Ambassadors. The first chapter will be released later this year…watch this space!

Work Experience

We believe that young people are best placed to know about the arts and culture activity they prefer to engage with. Offering work experience placements to local young people is not only beneficial to the next generation seeking to find meaningful employment experience in the arts sector but also ensures that we are able to engage with young voices when making decisions affecting the arts and culture provisions we offer in North Devon.

We look to offer 3-4 places each year. Our most recent placement was Petroc student Sophie Newland who was with us assisting in all areas of our day to day work. To find out more about what she got up to in her own words click here
