Arts Award and Artsmark allow both young individuals and education settings to gain formal recognition for their commitment to quality arts development and we’re here to support you through the process.

Arts Award

Arts Award is a range of unique qualifications that supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form - from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry.

Arts Award inspires young people to grow their arts and leadership talents: it's creative, valuable, accessible and can be achieved at five levels, four qualifications and an introductory award.

Beaford is an Arts Award supporter organisation and Arts Award Centre. We have trained advisors who can deliver and assess Arts Award in your setting. We can offer children and young people opportunities to achieve certification in Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver or Gold level Arts Award, accredited through Trinity College London.

For detailed information about the awards head over to the Arts Award website here.

Artsmark

The Artsmark Award is the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings, accredited by Arts Council England.

Artsmark’s flexible framework is designed to help you embed arts, culture and creativity across your whole curriculum, celebrating your commitment to cultural education.

Artsmark is open to primary, secondary and special schools, pupil referral units, youth offending teams and sixth form colleges.

Artsmark Quality Principles are:

Striving for excellence and innovation
Being authentic
Being exciting, inspiring and engaging
Ensuring a positive and inclusive experience
Actively involving children and young people
Enabling personal progression
Developing belonging and ownership

Beaford supports schools working towards Artsmark. Working with us through our Archive, Events and Education programmes evidences some of these principals that can form part of your case study towards Artsmark.

A recent example of our contribution to an Artsmark Gold Award is the creative partnership we have with Appledore School. We spent a year in the school exploring the local area through workshops with professional artists resulting in a Community Trail.
