In Autumn 2023 Beaford once again joined forces with multi story & Theatre Workhouse to create a response to Climate Change Theatre Action's collection of global playlets for 2023 from a North Devon perspective.
multi story theatre developed work with Theatre Workhouse and two local colleges - Braunton Academy and Chulmleigh College. The project was supported by a project grant from Arts Council England and a further grant from the Edward & Anne Jefcoate Memorial Charitable Trust.
There were performances in Braunton, Chulmleigh and Barnstaple at the beginning of December 2023.
“When Beaford came up with the idea
for the project we jumped at it. Having
worked with Theatre Workhouse on
CCTA scripts two years ago we knew
that working with them and students
from Chulmleigh and Braunton would
be a dynamic and creative experience.”
Excerpt from Granny’s Garden – song by multi story theatre company

“There are many sorts of jobs: jobs that are just hard work, jobs that are hard work but are also very rewarding and there are jobs that almost don’t feel like work at all — that are joyful and thrilling from start to finish. This project falls into this last category.”
