11-1pm morning session:
Take part in this free drop in activity to experience photography using a pinhole camera. Dave Green, local photographer, will teach you the techniques needed to create an image on paper and process the picture for you using chemicals. After you have taken part you will need to leave the photographic paper with Dave for a little time as it is processed and dried (please allow at least 1hr for this process), before returning to collect your work. This workshop, open to all, with or without kids, will take place in Victoria Park and in The Kingsley Room at the Burton.
2-4pm afternoon session:
Take part in this free drop in activity to experience a camera obscura in The Kingsley Room at the Burton! This is when a room is transformed into the inside of a camera with a blacked out dark room and a pinhole of light. If you stay in it long enough (10 minutes or more) your eyes become accustomed to the darkness and before you an image or the world outside will be displayed on the walls! Join Dave to understand more about the process of photography in this camera obscura activity! You will be able to draw parts of what you see to keep as a memory, or take photos without a flash to capture the experience.
