Participate in this free workshop with oral historian Malcolm Cowburn to learn about ‘The Practice of oral history’ applied to your own ambitions of recording memories and stories for posterity. Attending this workshop will help you embark on your own interviewing journey as you think about the techniques you might use to interview someone you know. Malcolm will talk about the theory and practice behind oral history interviewing and give scenarios that help you think about the approach you might apply if you were to record your own. Malcolm will lead you in thinking about the theory behind the practice so that by the end of the workshop you will have a deeper knowledge and understanding about the oral history process including the practical and ethical issues involved. We hope this opportunity to learn from Malcolm will enable you to think about how and why you might preserve your own histories for the future.
