This is a view of the high street in the 1800s. The street in this photo doesn’t appear busy, although it is not known when, what time or which day it was taken. The process of photography in the 19th century took much longer than digital photography. Its process involved used animal jellies (gelatine) or egg whites (albumen), light sensitive film and glass to capture images.
