The architecture of this building makes it easily identifiable. Decorated with stone flower carvings and insignia giving the building a sense of grandeur and status. You can clearly tell that Youing’s and Sons specialised in monument masonry (decorative monuments from stone) and therefore the outside of the building shows off their skill and prowess. Why might it be important to keep heritage and preservation of old decorative buildings?

A barricade of bicycles creates a ‘Gordy’s’ path through Queen’s Walk Arcade! A love of bicycles and repairs has always been fostered here in keeping with climate consciousness: reduce-reuse-reCYCLE! Taken in 1987 but perhaps this picture shows the future… when the streets will have less cars and more sustainable transport: watch this space?!
